DOB: 24 August 1961
From: Shepparton United/St Bernards Old Boys
Called up for his debut as a 16-year-old, O'Dwyer was picked for his first senior appearance after just one training run with the ailing Demons. Melbourne had been chasing him ever since he kicked 11 goals in a match between the best young prospect of their country zone in September 1977. He had only played his first senior game in June that year, and hadn't previously appeared in the Demon Reserves.
He goalled with his first kick in league football but saw his side throw away a 46 point first quarter lead to lose at Moorabbin. Dropped after that match he missed two seasons of league football - playing Reserves in 1980 - before returning for six matches in 1981 and one final game in 1982. He would not play in a win during his career with the Demons.
