DOB: 24 August 1961
From: Shepparton United/St Bernards Old Boys
Called up for his debut as a 16-year-old, O'Dwyer was picked for his first senior appearance after just one training run with the ailing Demons. Melbourne had been chasing him ever since he kicked 11 goals in a match between the best young prospect of their country zone in September 1977. He had only played his first senior game in Shepparton a month earlier, and hadn't previously appeared in the Demon Reserves.
He goalled with his first kick in league football but saw his side throw away a 46 point first quarter lead to lose at Moorabbin. Dropped after that match he missed two seasons of league football - playing Reserves in 1980 - before returning for six matches in 1981 and one final game in 1982. He would not play in a win during his career with the Demons.
