Centre-half forward in the 1951 Prahran VFA premiership team, Morrow then sought a clearance to Melbourne after being with the Two Blues since 1946. Prahran denied the request even though he had already started training, and playing practice matches, with the Demons.

He played out the 1952 season at Prahran before eventually winning a clearance to Melbourne in 1953. After more than a hundred games with the Two Blues he managed just six in the seniors and returned to Prahran to play 167 VFA games in total until 1957.
