The Blues were comfortably in front at quarter time, before the Demons snatched the lead in the second term. From there though it was all Carlton.
The Blues cause wasn't hurt when Brendan Fevola received a free kick directly after Chris Judd's goal in the third quarter. He converted and the Blues were on their way to a rare second straight win.
Best were Green, McDonald and McLean. Matthew Whelan was suspended for one match for striking.
David Neitz suffered a shoulder injury which would ultimately see him retire.
