Biggest loss against St Kilda
It was a dark Saturday at the office for the Demons. Not only had they lost their sixth game in a row, but Cameron Bruce suffered medial ligament damage which would keep him out of the rest of the home and away season.
The Demons had attempted to get physical with the Saints before the first bounce, but it backfired with St. Kilda kicking 8 goals in the first term and going on to do pretty much whatever they wanted for the rest of the game.
The injury list also saw additions with David Neitz jarring his knee, Nathan Carroll carried off with concussion, James McDonald with a shoulder injury and Matthew Whelan hurting his finger. Carroll's injury in the third quarter saw it run for a near record 38m 40s.
The Saints were well served with 7 goals to Fraser Gehrig and 5 to Nick Dal Santo. The match is the 13th highest score that the Demons have ever conceded in VFL/AFL football.
Matthew Whelan was suspended for a match for rough conduct.
