Carlton win by 62 points
A strong wind blowing through the exposed Carlton ground had a major effect on the match, and the locals used the conditions to win comfortably. Melbourne were weakened by the absence of Parkin, Sowden, Drane and J. Purse, and even without the disadvantages of the wind were by far the inferior side.
Best were Conquest, H. Cordner and H. Purse. J. Gardiner suffered a knee injury early in the game.
