Cleared to Melbourne from Williamstown in May 1932, Streeter was promoted from the Seconds before the 1933 season.

Played one season for Footscray in 1934 before moving to VFA team Yarraville and playing in their 1935 flag side. He stayed there through 1941, then returned after the war to play in 1945.
