Originally from the North Melbourne VFA side, Geggie played with Essendon from 1902 to 1904 and appeared in the 1902 Grand Final.
The follower was vice-captain of Richmond in the VFA in 1906 and played his one game for Melbourne in 1911 against the Bombers - in a match where Melbourne failed to score a goal.
He had initially sought a clearance to Melbourne in April 1910, and played in a practice match but was refused. After he left the Fuschias, Geggie joined Oakleigh as Captain/Coach.
