Joined the Melbourne Under 19s in 1972 and played his only senior matches the next season. He played as a forward flanker on his debut.
In 1974 he was cut from the list and joined VFA side Oakleigh where he played in their losing Grand Final. He remained there through 1986.
His brother Russell also played Under 19s for the Demons.
