Ruckman who debuted in the first round of 1967, before being dropped back to the Reserves. He returned to the senior side later in the year, but also gained experience playing for Melbourne High during the season.

Fowler tore ankle ligaments in Round 8, 1969 and never played VFL football again. He also had a shoulder injury during 1969. Fowler moved to Canberra in 1970 and joined Eastlake. He signed for them before winning a clearance from Melbourne, and despite early indications the Demons wouldn't let him go he transferred. Fowler remained in the ACT until the end of 1974, representing the territory in games from 1971 to 1974.

Retired for 2.5 years - except for two games in a local competition with Canberra College - before returning with the Australian National University club in 1978.
