Joined the Demons after 17 matches for Collingwood over three seasons from 1940, but was not much more successful with his new side - adding just 11 games in two years. His 1945 campaign was ruined by a dislocated shoulder suffered in Round 1 and he didn't play again until Round 14. Cleared to Northcote in the 1946 pre-season and played three games.
His brother Dave joined Melbourne in 1947 and played four games.
