22-year-old follower recruited in 1956, beating Collingwood, Geelong and Essendon to his signature. Secretary Jim Cardwell had been chasing him for six months, while Geelong made three trips to Mooroopna to try and win his signature.

Made the final list, but had just joined the police force and returned to Mooroopna. Rogerson Returned in the 1957 pre-season but didn't play a senior match and was downgraded from the senior list to the Seconds.
