After a tight opening, the game was won in the second quarter. The Demons kicked four goals to one to take control. A further two goals to one in the third quarter extended the margin, before the sting went out of the game in the last quarter and each side kicked one goal.
The victory left Melbourne undefeated.
Best were Paxman, Jakobsson, Cunningham. Jasmine Grierson was a late withdrawal due to injury, replaced by Brooke Patterson.
