The second national draft was arguably the weakest ever. The number one selection, the much derided Richard Lounder, played four games for Richmond and Brisbane used pick 2 on a player (Chris McDermott) who refused to play for them. Of the top twenty selections only Graham Wright (selection 3) and Stuart Wigney (selection 20) became household names.
Andrew Obst didn't join the Demons until 1990.
