Having loaded up on mature aged players in 2004, Carlton seemed to have put their dark days behind them but over the course of four quarters they were humiliated.
It was Melbourne's first ever 100 point win over Carlton, and their highest score against the Blues. The margin of victory was eclipsed as a record in Round 9, 2018.
