Half-forward who played 17 games over two seasons before leaving Melbourne. In 1911 he was Melbourne's sole representative in a VFL side which played against the Bendigo League. In the 1912 pre-season he was linked with a move to University, but remained at Melbourne and added six more games to his career tally.

Already enlisted in the army, Kennedy left at the end of the season and played several sports in at the Duntroon Military College including Australian rules, rugby union and cricket. When World War I began Kennedy was joined the conflict as part of the Yarra Bordereds, before transferring to the Light Horse Brigade. He served at Gallipoli, the Somme, Bapaume, Lignicourt and was wounded in 1915. He was killed during the Battle of Passchendaele in January 1918.
