The country recruit, law student and former Australian handball champion played one VFA game for Port Melbourne in 1911 before moving to the VFL to join University. He left the club in 1913 and missed the war years working for the Home Affairs Department in Canberra and serving in Europe as both a soldier and a pilot. In 1916 he played in a services game in London.

With the war over Little returned to VFL football to join Melbourne in their winless 1919 campaign, and though he only appeared in two victories during 1920 it was one more than the wins he'd enjoyed in his 34 matches with the Students. After five games in the first half of 1920, he went to the country, returning for one more match.

He later become a crown prosecutor and well known legal figure in Victoria.
