Ruckman/centre half-forward who was promoted from the supplementary list in 1971 and debuted the next year. After two games he was cleared to SANFL side Glenelg in 1973. In 1977 he became playing coach at Wagga in the Farrer League. In 1980, Anderson returned to Glenelg for two more seasons, finishing on 90 games..

In 1980 there was a suggestion that South Melbourne would sign Anderson, but that the process of getting clearances from both Wagga and Melbourne - as well as the need for Col to transfer his employment to Melbourne would make the deal difficult. He never signed for the Swans.

Also played Reserves from 1969 to 1971.

Anderson appeared on the professional sprinting circuit and won the 1975 Bendigo Two Thousand race.

At Leeton in 1983 and coached them in 1984.
