After losing their first game of the year, the Demons got back on track with a thumping win over Carlton. The Blues were kept to one goal for the evening, a score Melbourne had covered in the opening minutes. They started the scoring via a long kick from Tayla Harris, who got the second not long after. As heavy rain started to fall, the Dees added two more late in the second quarter to all but put the Blues away. Carlton only generated 13 inside 50s, giving their forwards no chance of kicking a competitive score, and they only added one behind after half time.
Best were Harris, Purcell and West.
