The Tasmanian rover made his debut in the second round of 1951 and failed to play another game for the year after suffering shoulder and knee injuries. Late in the season he underwent required knee surgery, but was available for the first two games of 1952 season. He was an unused reserve in his final game, didn't play another senior match after that.

Returned to Latrobe in 1953 and coached Tasmanian side Forest in 1954.
