Hyett started playing with St Kilda Sharks at 35-years-old old after previously being a professional golfer. She later coached with the Sharks, before moving to the Sandringham Dragons under 18s side in 2018.
In early 2024, Hyett was appointed senior coach of the Western Bulldogs
