2 - Clayton Oliver
With the prize of almost confirming a finals berth on the line, the inaccurate Dees had an 18 point lead in the second quarter before Sydney kicked the next seven. With the Swans down two players after quarter time with injury, a late goal put them 28 points in front at three quarter. Melbourne came hard at their fading opposition, but couldn't overhaul the margin.
Best were Brayshaw, Harmes and Salem. Hunt suffered an ankle injury, Jetta a hurt nose and Hogan a foot injury that ended his season. Clayton Oliver was fined $1000 for making contact with an umpire.
