Image An opening round demolition at the hands of the Hawks left everyone, including skipper David Neitz wondering just how bad the Demons of 2008 were. By full time at the MCG the Bulldogs had proven that they were in a world of trouble.

A competitive first quarter saw the Dogs lead by just one point at quarter time but after that the match was one way traffic.

"I'm not asking them to do anything radical from the game-plan," Bailey said. "Today was very simple about being competitive, we spoke about it during the week, to play contested football, to win contested football, to play that way. There was no difficulty iunderstanding the approach to today's game''

The prize for suffering two smashing losses was a trip to Geelong to face the reigning premiers at Skilled Stadium.

Best were Jones, Morton and Carroll. Jace Bode was a late replacement for Michael Newton.
