After going 20-0 down, Melbourne were fortunate to be behind by only nine points at the first change courtesy of a Bayley Fritsch goal after the siren. Like their previous game, a blistering third quarter put the Demons in a winning position. The last five goals of the term opened a 31 point lead at the last break, but in a quarter affected by rain they had to withstand a furious comeback by the Crows. The margin was down to eight points late in the quarter before Eddie Betts missed a chance at a goal from the square. Melbourne held on, kicking the last goal of the game to win by 13.
Best were Oliver, Harmes and Neal-Bullen.
