Richmond win by 29 points
With four games to play, and a two game break on the third Richmond, the visitors could have all but sewn up a top two finish with a win. A big crowd gathered in anticipation of a top match, but after kicking the only four goals of the second term to take an 18 point lead into the half, Melbourne crumbled and were easily beaten. Only 1.2 after the long break allowed Richmond to pull within striking distance at the top of the ladder.
Best were Tymms, Latham, and Wittman.
