Another week, another thrashing for the disappointing Reds. The wind caused the game to become a scrap, and in what was described as a "friendly game" St Kilda put in a much better performance
Despite Melbourne more than doubling their score in the final term they were still outscored in a high scoring term. The small crowd saw their forward line fail to fire yet again.
Jack Watt, the ex-Red, was one of the best for St Kilda while ex-Seasider Arthur Best was one of only two players to register a major.
Lilley, McKenzie, Daly and Connole were amongst Melbourne's best.
Alf Williamson was reported for rough conduct and suspended for three matches.
