Two of the three worst teams in the competition came together at the MCG and played out a thrilling draw which left the Demons last.

At quarter time it looked like the home side were going to run away to a big win, but they failed to double their score in the last three quarters. By half time the Tigers were within 10 points, and had taken a lead at three quarter time.

The two sides kicked three goals each in the final term, and the match ended with the two sides locked together in what was Melbourne's first draw since the same round a year before.

Marquis, Williams and Albiston were best.
