Paul McNamee

Paul McNamee DOB: 12 November 1954

Appointed by Paul Gardner as CEO shortly after Steve Harris was forced out of the club before the 2008 season.

The former head of the Australian Open tennis and golf tournaments McNamee was given the task of developing the Melbourne 'brand', one described by AFL CEO Andrew Demetriou as "meaningless" and announced that part of his masterplan for the club was to attract a marquee player like Jonathan Brown.

McNamee was criticised for travelling to England to play in a legends doubles tournament at Wimbledon during the season, and was sacked by Jim Stynes almost immediately after his administration took office midway through 2008.

In 2010, McNamee became President of the International Tennis Federation.
