Melbourne kept their finals hopes alive with a big win. Their 6.3 to 0.1 first quarter was the largest in AFLW history, and though Carlton won the rest of the game they were too far behind to seriously threaten.
Best were O'Dea, Cunningham and Smith. Mel Hickey suffered a serious knee injury, and Aliesha Newman a groin injury.
