Adelaide win by 85 points
9 point goalkickers: Travis Johnstone 1
6 point goalkickers: Paul Johnson 2, Chris Johnson 1, Nathan Jones 1, Russell Robertson 1
The Crows kicked two goals in the opening two minutes, and when Paul Johnson responded Adelaide goalled again a minute later.
Neale Daniher was animated towards his players at quarter time, but his side conceded a minute into the second quarter. The margin was 39 points before a Travis Johnstone 9 point goal started a run where the visitors cut the gap to 17 before Adelaide took control again. Two goals in the opening three minutes after half time started the rampage, and the Demons failed to score in the third quarter as Adelaide went on to easily qualify for the pre-season cup final. Melbourne was held to three points in the second half.
Daniher said "We just couldn't get our hands on the ball. We were beaten around clearances, we were beaten whenever the ball was contested. They were a lot sharper, a lot quicker with the ball, ran harder." He said his side looked "flat and tired", but refused to blame their game in Darwin two weeks earlier.
Best were Yze, Green, and Davey.
Scoring
Johnstone 1.0 (nine point goal), P. Johnson 2.0, Robertson 1.1, Jones 1.0, C. Johnson 1.0, Miller 0.2, Sylvia 0.1, rushed 0.1.
