In their second consecutive match against a 2023 Grand Final team, Melbourne was on the end of another heavy beating. Despite being outplayed in the early stages, Melbourne recovered to level scores at quarter time but were unable to hold the Roos at bay, and struggled to added to their score. A four goal to nil second quarter made the game safe for North, and they held the home side to a single goal after the break.
Best were Paxman, Mithen, and Goldrick.
