Collingwood win by 15 points
Ralph Lane (15th game)
Another weekend with cold winds and rain caused scoring to be affected, and after a series of creditable performances which hadn't landed them a win the Demons went under narrowly again. The Magpies were better suited to the conditions, with their small men handling the ball well in the conditions, but they didn't have it all their own way.
Melbourne didn't do themselves any favours, failing to score in the first quarter and adding just four points in the third, but with the wind in the last quarter they more than doubled their score and made the Magpies work hard to hold them out. The Demons got to within seven points early in the final term but couldn't get their noses in front and Collingwood steadied to win.
Best were Beckwith, Williams and Arnold.
