In front of a small crowd at the Giants' second home base the Demons earned their fourth win of the season in unconvincing fashion.
After a shaky start GWS were restricted to one point from halfway through the second quarter until the start of the fourth, and only inaccurate kicking in the wind stopped the Demons from having a bigger lead at three quarter time in scrappy conditions and a game dominated by endless stoppages.
GWS won the last quarter to make the scoreline respectable, while simultaneously shoring up their position as wooden spooners.
Best were Dunn, Howe and Macdonald.
Jack Watts replaced Tom Couch during the third quarter. Lynden Dunn was reported for staging for a free kick.
