Saturday 7 June - South Melbourne Cricket Ground
Melbourne 3.15
Williamstown 0.4 (half time 1.3-0.4)
Melbourne win by 3 goals
Goalkickers: Rush 1, McDonald 1, Stiffe 1
The game was played on neutral territory as the MCG was occupied by cyclists and the Melbourne Football Ground was undergoing works. Consequently a small crowd were in attendance.
The Reds won the toss and kicked with the wind, but Williamstown attacked first and missed several easy shots at goal. Williamstown held the 'home' side to one goal in the first half, but they failed to take advantage and conceded two goals to nil before the end of the game.
Best were Ross, McIntyre and Jones.
