James Morris

James Morris DOB: 1860
Died: 19 January 1920

From: Northcote

Ruckman from 1881 to 1884, who became club Secretary in July 1886. He resigned as Melbourne's league delegate in September 1887.

Played in an 1898 old players game against Essendon.

Later operated the Morris & Meeks hardware firm in the Melbourne CBD. He was killed in 1920 when he and his son were thrown from their horse and cart after it was startled by a motor car. His son was unhurt, but Morris suffered fatal injuries.

Notes
Possibly the Mr Morris who umpired an match against Essendon.
