16-year-old forward recruited in August 1946 on the recommendation of former Geelong player Wal Sharland. Did not make the list, and returned to the league in 1952 with Essendon where he led their goalkicking in 1957 and played in their Grand Final loss to Melbourne.
Joined New South Wales club Turvey Park as captain-coach in 1958.
