A defender who moved to the Demons after winning an A-Grade amateurs premiership with Ormond and playing for the Victorian Amateur rep side.

After his single season of VFL football, Rowse moved to the country to coach Merbein where he remained through 1954. In 1953 he coached the Sunraysia League representative side. In 1959 he was in charge of South Mildura.
