Kicking into a strong breeze in the first quarter, the Demons kept Collingwood goalless. They got their only two goals of the first half in quick succession shortly before half-time, and after another goalless term into the wind in the third added another to make the result safe. The Magpies got the last goal, their only one of the game, in the last five minutes.
Best were O'Dea, Pearce and Paxman.
