Melbourne's first win in the AFLW competition came after giving the Pies a three goal head-start. In the first half the Demons struggled to find an effective forward structure, before a Catherine Phillips snap from the pocket opened the floodgates. Collingwood didn't score in the second half and the Dees ran away to an easy victory.
Best were Paxman, Phillips and Pearce. Meg Downie suffered a ruptured hamstring shortly before being knocked out in a bump.
