The Demons rested six players who had played in the big Round 9 VFL win over Footscray.
Robert Flower, Chris Connolly, Peter Giles and Alan Johnson were left out to recover while Kelvin Templeton, who had booted eight against his old side, had achilles soreness and Peter Moore was troubled by hamstring and groin strains.
David Cordner helped the Demons storm home in the last term, while Steven Smith held rising star Rick Davies to two goals at the other end.
Best were Smith, Cordner and Greg Healy.
