Trialled in the last game of 1906, Suhr played in a team that was easily beaten and didn't return to Melbourne the next year. He was cleared to Caulfield in May 1907 but returned to the VFL for a second game with St Kilda in 1911.
A successful designer and builder, Suhr later became St Kilda president. He served in the role for two years before dying while in office in 1930 after a long illness.
