Alexander "Alec" Gray played as a full-back on either side of World War I, and after his VFL career ended he moved to the VFA to play with Preston.

1919 Record shows his name as H. Gray. It was previously thought that Alec Gray and Alex Gray were the same person. This is incorrect.
A 'Gray' is listed as cleared to Northcote in May 1915, but this is either another player or he didn't join them.
