1936 pre-season defender. Didn't make the cut and returned to Camberwell, where he stayed until 1938 when he returned to Richmond, where he'd previously played Seconds, for nine senior games. He had previously applied for a clearance to Richmond in mid-1937 but was forced to wait until the end of the season to leave. Brett went back to Camberwell for a third time in 1939, but was dropped from their list midway through the season. He applied for a clearance to Kew but was rejected.
