Aged 23, he was signed on a two year contract with a view to playing as a mobile defender. Berry last played football as a 15-year-old before moving to the United States, where he attended Fairleigh Dickinson and North Florida universities.
Berry's brothers Jordan and Wilson played professional and college American Football respectively.
