Played one game for Hawthorn in 1934, where his father was named club secretary and brother assistant secretary the next year. He suffered a serious ankle injury in the first quarter of his debut, and did not play another game for Hawthorn
Trained with Melbourne in the 1938 pre-season and cleared to the Seconds in May 1938. Joined Camberwell a month later where he played one game.
Worked as a policeman during his football career.
