Made his debut in the last game of 1975, and added another two the next year before joining VFA side Sandringham in 1977.
He played 12 games with the Zebras, but had a troubled time with the club. In 1979 he was suspended by the Zebras for an alleged lack of discipline. Walley joined Camberwell in 1980, playing another four games until 1982, and appearing in their 1981 Reserves premiership side.
