Ruckman/forward selected with Melbourne's first pick in the 2019 Draft. The Under 18 All-Australian had previously represented Australia at the Under 17 Basketball World Cup, before concentrating on football.
Jackson played six games in his first season, winning a Rising Star nomination before a hamstring injury ended his year. At the end of the season he signed a two year contract extension.
In his second year, Jackson proved a handy forward and ruckman. He was won a second Rising Star nomination in Round 8, and kicked a career high four goals in Round 20. At the end of the season, Jackson was the overall winning of the Rising Star award, and played an important role in Melbourne's Grand Final victory, helping drive a quick burst of goals at the end of the third quarter that turned the game.
