Served as a VFL Delegate for 10 years from 1939 to 1948 - but had to take a three month leave of absence in 1946 due to illness.

Hogg was made a life member of the VFL in 1949 and serve as the inaugural president of the Metropolitan League in 1950 but left after a year to go overseas.
