The youngest player ever to debut for the club missed five years after the 1943 season, playing at Hastings again before returning to the VFL as a tall defender in 1949.
After three games he went back to his old side after he had trouble regularly attending training. He played at Hastings through 1952 and was a three time winner of the Mornington Peninsula League's best player award.
