From: Broadford/Coburg
Zoned to Melbourne in 1983 but after just two training sessions was sold to Essendon for $5,000. Via a stint in the VFA with Coburg, Ezard went on to play 184 games and win two premierships with Essendon.
Coached North Ballarat in 1994, and played for them when they debuted as a VFL side in 1996. Player/coach of St Albans in 2000. Coached Pascoe Vale in 2007, Hoppers Crossing in 2010, Hillside in 2012 and La Trobe University in 2015.
His nephew James played for Port Adelaide in 2005 and 2006.
