Tom Ferguson statistician

Died: 4 March 1953

Former Hawthorn captain who worked as a statistician for Melbourne in the years before his death.

The Melbourne and Hawthorn football clubs both played for the T.M. Ferguson Memorial Trophy from the early 1950s until the mid 1960s. This medal was presented to the winning side at the end of every match between the two sides. The trophy was provided by the Hawthorn president, and Tom's son, Dr T. Ferguson.

Aged 69 at death. Some sources say he played for Essendon but there is no evidence of this.
